University of Agriculture, Faisalabad

About the University:

In 1906, the foundations of an agricultural college were laid with the name “Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute” in Lyallpur. In 1961, this college was raised to university level, resulting into the establishment of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

Pakistan being an agriculture based economy needed an institution which could delve into scientific research for enhancing the country’s production capacity.

The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (or UAF) has been ranked 1st among all Pakistani agricultural universities by the HEC. It is the largest university in Asia. The Governor Punjab is the Chancellor of the university. The university has six faculties providing education in various departments. In addition to that there is a Division of Education and Extension which provides training courses and short courses to individuals and organizations.
