Ziarat is one of the famous and beautiful district of Baluchistan 120 km away from Quetta. Famous for its greenery and nature‘s great kindness.

Baba Kharwaris shrine, the evergreen juniper trees are its fame but the one and only place which makes it world wide famous is Quaid e Azam Residency. Yes,Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah(R.A) who is the great father of the nation.

His honorable Mr.Jinnah the first governor General of Pakistan spend his last days here in this historic Ziarat Residence.Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah while fighting with severe illness in last days where recommended by doctors to spend a couple of days far away from matters of state in some peaceful place to get well soon. Here it was Ziarat residency which was built in 1892 as sanatorium. The residency is so lucky that it hosted the last days of the father of the nation. Ziarat residency also referred as Quaid e Azam Residency is one of the classic wooden architecture of a building. Its whole structure is made up of wood. It’s consist of bedrooms, dining room, a lounge. Its a double story building fully constructed of wood. The enchanting lawns around residency, the heighted chinar trees presents one of the best natural scenes of Ziarat. Quaid e Azam residency is termed as a national monument. You can see it’s picture behind the Hundred Rupee Pakistani Currency.The furniture in the residency is preserved the same way when Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah used it. His classic cloths, the three piece suits hence each and every thing which was used during his stay at Ziarat residency is kept as it is. Days passed on and many decades when we lost the great leader, nation Builder and father of the nation Quaid e azam Mohummad Ali Jinnah (R.A) but when you visit Ziarat Residency it feels like the time has returned.

You can imagine Quaid e Azam dining in the dining room. Taking rest in the his classic bedroom. You can see him strolling in the lawns of the residency. The local officials charges ticket to see the Ziarat residency. It’s locked and the visitors can only see this historic place from the glass windows except the few places which are open for public. The officials of Ziarat residency are appreciable for maintaining this precious and unique monument very well as compare to other monuments’ around the country. The Ziarat residency is in good state and reminds the presence of Quaid e Azam Mohummad Ali Jinnah to Pakistanis who love him. This historic place saw him alive for the last time. It’s said that Quaid e Azam took his last breath here in Ziarat residency and it was confirmed when his dead body was sent to Karachi. Many conspiracy stories were also heard about Quaid’s Stay at Ziarat Residency like one of them reported that Quaid was sent to Ziarat by Britishers to poison him. God knows and only the historians know the realities but it’s out of any doubt that Ziarat residency is mysterious, enchanting and historic place which is ideal for an explorer.
